For mom, here are some of the things that happen when we nurse our young:

Your kids may grab your boobs like they own them long after you stop nursing. This can go on for years.  You will also get questions like "mom, is the milk gone?", "did i drink it all?", "Lemme see your boobies!", and the list really does go on.

You will look at your breasts as amazing things forever!  They are more than just plunging neckline placeholders.  They make food!  Like actually sustain a human.  The fun bags are not only fun, they are functional.

Breastfeeding reduces breast cancer.A new study says that breastfeeding for a year cuts your risk of breast cancer by a third, particularly for those women who have the disease in their family history. This alone is worth the cracked nipples.

Vaginal dryness.  It's a thing, it can happen because of your hormone levels while nursing.  Most people don't warn you of thi

Your breasts may be more sensitive to the touch. Like superiorly so. Like OMG so.

Walking around topless will become normal for you.

You may end up having no problem discussing breastfeeding with other moms or anyone who asks.  We absolutely love to discuss boobs.

You may miss it terribly when your breastfeeding days are over.

What does the baby get?  Happy you asked!  Let's discuss.

Baby gets sick less and have a lower risk of allergies.

Baby has a lower risk of obesity and Types 1 and 2 diabetes.

Baby has a lower incidence of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).

Baby will be on a path to optimal brain development.  We call that Einstein status.

Your breast milk delivers nutrients that help strengthen and develop their immature immune system in a way no other substance can.

Breastfed babies are less likely to be hospitalized with pneumonia or bronchiolitis, and have a decreased risk of lower respiratory tract infections.

Endless amounts of snuggles.
